My review:
If you want to read a true story of a strong woman dealing with the sad --and sometimes just plain unbelievable -- things life throws at her, Elle is a fabulous story-teller. This is a heart-wrenching book, but Elle also has a sense of humor that shows up when you least expect it. This is one of those "truth is stranger than fiction" books, but I've known Elle for almost ten years, and know this to be her real story.
Adoptees, survivors of sexual abuse, and those left behind in a family member's battle with drugs or mental illness may also be interested in this book.
